Jennifer Carrigan And Tragic Family Tragedy

This must be one of the most tragic family tragedies in recent memory when Jennifer Carrigan and her prom date Steven Furtado were found dead by Jennifer Carrigan's mother at a Chester home on the night of their prom. Police have since arrested an 18 year old named Reyes Carillo on suspicion of killing both Jennifer Carrigan and Steven Furtado and the initial motive is said to be murder in the heat of passion. Reyes once dated Jennifer and it could have arisen out of jealousy or something related. On top of this horrible incident, the Carrigans then experienced a second tragedy the day after, as Jennifer Carrigan's brother, Billy Carrigan was found dead in a car crash as he headed home from Berkeley after ramming headlong into some trees along Highway 36. Billy Carrigan was on his way back after hearing the terrible news of his sister Jennifer Carrigan's death as a result of being murdered, and again another car accident has struck me as having to make sure that I drive carefully and responsibly with my new car. I hate to have to use someone else's personal tragedy as my own example such as this case with the Carrigans, but I believe that we should all be mindful of what might happen when we are in a driver's seat and how much power we hold in our hands when we are strapped up and stepping on that pedal.

American Gladiators New Season Premieres Tonight

Once again the brain drain that is American Gladiators will be back on TV tonight. I am not exactly sure how many seasons it has run but American Gladiators is definitely one that glorifies the American jock and while lovers of the show will claim that it is nothing more than a fun game show and that all criticism of it is exaggerated I tend to disagree. There is all that chest beating and uppity showmanship on American Gladiators that really does nothing to dispel the stereotype of the arrogant American jock which can be embarrassing at times. And who best to host the show in 2008 than Mr Jock himself, Hulk Hogan. He is perfect for American Gladiators for our times and I am always surprised he isn't one of the guys you have to get past on the show as well. Perhaps it is just the age but the guy looks perpetually pumped on something so he could be Mr American Gladiators himself. Now that's quite hilarious if you ask me. :)

I would rather actually watch House on FOX even though the station is a load of rubbish most times. Ok I admit that although I love cars and is fast on track to becoming a car jock, I will never be that American jock that you see glorified on American Gladiators. That is just plain crazy and I prefer sarcastic miserable doctors on House.

Help Lily And Marshall Sell Their Stuff For Charity

It has been reported on the show "Everything Must Go" that from May 12, you can help Lily and Marshall sell their stuff for charity on their online site. I am trying to find out where you can actually do that and on which site it actually does that, whether it is lilyandmarshallselltheirstuff.com or marshallandlilyselltheirstuff.com or what. If someone can help, it would be great as this is something for charity and certainly a good gesture. Do good for others and feel good about it, and the world will be a better place eventually. So if anyone knows where to go to donate some cash by helping Lily and Marshall sell their stuff online for charity, help to spread the word around. The charity in particular will be for the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles and it is for a great cause. With so many terrible things happening in the world right now like the cyclone in Myanmar and terrible earthquake in Sichuan, China, we need to do more to help others in need. Start small if you have constraints by buying some of the stuff at Lily and Marshall's website which will sell a lot of stuff and items to help a children's hospital.

Michael Baisden MingleCity.com And What Is Right

Apparently the Michael Baisden Show has been taken off air and anyone who wants to keep the show alive or show support should go to Minglecity.com and provide some show of appreciation and concern for both the show and the host Michael Baisden, who has done a lot in bringing a higher level of awareness to various situations in Los Angeles especially in relation to that of ethnicity particularly for Blacks. Apparently Michael Baisden wanted to discuss the recent violence related to a high school football player who was shot and killed near his home by a Mexican immigrant. The latter was just released from jail and again apparently this was related to some gang dispute or further violence against the Blacks in L.A.

The reason why MingleCity.com came up was because Michael Baisden was first asked not to discuss this violence issue on his show, and then the radio station suddenly got sold and his show has been canceled with the change in ownership. Michael Baisden then decided to use Mingle City as his best hope of keeping in touch with the community and with his show taken off air, he requested that all who wanted to stay abreast of his work and any new developments could go to his site at MingleCity.com and sign up for the newsletter which will keep interested parties aware of directions that he and Mingle City will go towards.

Oliver North On American Hero From Edmond

Oliver North, the key figure in the Iran-Contra Affair that was one of many during Ronald Reagan's time in the White House, continues to try to cover himself with American Hero stories on his show as he talks about a mother's love and how she finally got his remains from the Vietnam War as a result of technological advances and what not. Ok, I did not exactly finish the whole thing but this guy, Oliver North, admits to being able to hide his wrong doings earlier in his military career from the modern military personnel because of time and ignorance. This is the same Oliver North who sold missiles to Iran, the same Iran that now America claims to be one of their biggest terrorist threats. Of course Oliver North now says that at that point in time, everyone was focused on the Soviet threat and never considered radical Islam to be important to home security. So Oliver North now pleads innocence on hindsight, but still holds onto Reagan's claim that he is an American Hero.

Of course, people should always be given second chances and Oliver North certainly deserves his. But stop with the subliminal associations with American Heroes because 'Ollie' North's dealings in the past with American security threats does not qualify him to be even close to being an American Hero. He has admitted that mistakes were made, but it would also be good if he lived his life quietly now instead of trying to reinvent himself as a hero in the eyes of the American public.

Survivor China Amanda Loses Out To Shallow

This was quite a shock as many viewers' choice for the win, Survivor China's Amanda Kimmel was voted three to five in losing to Parvati Shallow in the finale to Survivor Fans vs Favorites. Amanda, who had also been just as terrific in Survivor China, was unable to maintain her charm and momentum when facing up to the jury panel of fellow contestants at the tribal council, and lost control of herself which was never seen from her during her time on Survivor China. Amanda started crying and it was the wrong move as the tribal council thought she was acting and trying to gain votes. Whether she really did it for that or it was a genuine show of emotion, it was the straw that broke the camel's back for Amanda Kimmel and the Survivor China favorite was voted out of the game, and the winner's crown.

Parvati Shallow was not expected to win this and her gamesmanship itself was the subject of many viewers' discussion as she played the game really well and even stabbed quite a number of contestants in their backs, the most prominent being that of Oscar Lusth who was a huge favorite to win the contest. Even against Survivor China's Amanda Kimmel, most who have thought that she would not stand a chance as Amanda was slightly better liked up to that point. It was a shock when the result was announced and there was little to hold back Amanda Kimmel's tears when she realised that she had lost.

Sergio Garcia Bags Players Championship

Sergio Garcia still cannot win a major, but he can still continue to get other consolation prizes and what a consolation prize he won today. Ok I am interested in golf, so here I am sharing some of it today on my car blog so I hope nobody minds. One of my favorite players Sergio Garcia won the Players Championship today and it is his first trophy after almost four years without any. He won it after a sensational playoff against Paul Goydos and ended his drought.

Strangely enough, Sergio Garcia bags a non-major title in the Players Championship but still ends up with a big payday. The Players Championship win gets Sergo Garcia almost $2 million in prize money - $1.71 million to be exact, and it could not be any sweeter than this. Now, can Sergio Garcia finally break his major duck and win something on the circuit this year? We await with bated breath.

Paul Giunta And The Car Accident That Changed His Life

Tonight's episode of Extreme House Makeover certainly struck a chord with me as it was on Paul Giunta, whose story is that about two years ago he was involved in a horrible car accident that changed his and his family's life. The car that he was driving home in with his two sons after leaving the hospital where his wife had just given birth to a beautiful baby girl crashed and while his two sons thankfully avoided any fatal injuries, he was not so fortunate. Paul Giunta suffered horrific wounds from the car accident. What happened to him was that the injuries were so bad that the doctors believed that Paul Giunta would never ever walk again or do many things by himself. In effect, the Giunta family now had their head of household deemed injured badly enough to be thought a disabled. Paul's wife steadfastly refused to believe that and so did Paul. The latter wanted to regain his health and physical abilities and worked hard at it.

Fast forward two years after the car accident and Paul Giunta is now still suffering from disabilities but he can now walk, but still with some assistance. This is much better than the initial prognosis that had him not being able to move at all, much less walk. Paul Giunta still needs to move around in a wheelchair, and this is where Extreme House Makeover comes in. They heard the story of Paul Giunta and his family, and that Paul is currently living apart from his family because their own house is not accessible for the disabled. Basically it means that with Paul needing a wheelchair to move himself around, the house is not accessible to him. He currently lives with his parents and the family has to move constantly in between the two places to see each other and all that. So Extreme House Makeover will now build a fully disabled-abled house for Paul and his family. That was a fabulous touch and once again another tragic car accident in the news reminds me to be careful while driving my new car around. Paul Giunta's story could happen to anyone, in terms of the auto accident he unfortunately suffered, and we should all be mindful of how we drive and be safe to others and ourselves. There will always be unfortunate situations where there is no fault on you but someone else might crash their car into yours, of course, but we cannot control that so we should only worry about things that we can control, and that is to drive safely, and pray for Paul Giunta and his family that they will now be together happily and that Paul receives a full recovery from his injuries.

Dottie Rambo Killed In Automobile Accident

Singer-songwriter Joyce Dottie Rambo has left us and the world after she was brought to the Lord when the bus she was travelling in on Sunday morning crashed near Mount Vernon on the Interstate 44. In an uncanny relation to the gospel music that Dottie Rambo represented, she was the only passenger in the crashing bus that has been reported to not survive the accident. There were seven other fellow passengers in the bus who were heading towards Dottie Rambo's concert in North Richland, Texas to celebrate Mother's Day but all survived the horrible accident although all of them suffered injuries, but thankfully none were fatal. The automobile accident also brings to mind how we should all be careful when driving, as car and bus accidents can happen anytime, anywhere. It is a shock to me as I have just recently bought a car and hope that I will always drive safely and avoid car accidents like the ones which Dottie Rambo unfortunately suffered.

Unfortunately, only Dottie Rambo suffered fatal wounds and true to the musical work that she worked her whole life for, she will now be brought to the heavens to be her God's angel. Dottie Rambo was a widely published gospel musician, with official discography that included nearly 3,000 songs in her repertoire. Everyone will remember the gospel hit from 1982 "We Shall Behold Him", which Dottie Rambo would not have realised would eventually be what she would do this fateful day. There is some sadness tinged with gladness that while Dottie Rambo might no longer be with us anymore, she will now be with the entity whom she did so much work for and represented well.

Those who loved Dottie Rambo and her songs, please keep her and her family in your prayers. Those who do not know her, realise that Dottie Rambo was a good and kind hearted person, and will be remembered for years to come in the gospel music scene. She touched the hearts and minds of many, and was a very real person. Rest in peace, Dottie Rambo.

Welcome To My Word On Cars!

This is my personal blog on my obsession that has recently gripped me ever since I started making enough money to own a car. Now I am just totally mental over these four wheeled beauties and trying to learn more about them while enjoying my rides. It has been a long time coming and owning my own car has definitely given me all the convenience in the world in terms of moving from one place to another - now I can sleep in later before work each day, and I can work late and still get home before midnight. I can drive family and friends around and the car also gives me the ability to get out of the house more often without fear of having to waste time on buses or trains.

Getting a car has been the best thing to happen to me since I got a job. Well, ok, that might be an overstatement but it sure does make my life a whole lot easier and more comfortable. Now I find myself picking up auto magazines and thinking of getting books on different aspects of automobiles and cars to learn more about it. Certainly I have to learn about car maintenance as well because that is definitely an important part of owning a car, or you will be at the mercy of car workshops or engineers who might take advantage of your ignorance.
